In 1979, the mission of Go Global NC (then the N.C. Center for International Understanding) was providing global awareness for North Carolinians through people-to-people diplomacy and international exchanges.

That simple concept has grown into a movement, propelling North Carolina onto the main stage as a key player in international education, culture exchanges, and economic development. Over the past 38 years you’ve helped over 8,000 North Carolinians travel to over 50 countries.

So how would you explain Go Global NC in 38 seconds? Executive Director Rick Van Sant gives you his version.

How would you describe Go Global NC and your Go Global NC experience in 38 seconds? Share your video or audio with us on social media (#38Campaign) or email it to Kate at keruny@northcarolina.edu. It may be featured in a future 38 Campaign email!

We’re asking you celebrate our 38 years of work by pledging to the 38 campaign with a donation of $38, $380, or $3,800 to help us reach our goal of $38,000 in 38 days. Your donation will provide teachers, policy makers, law enforcement officials, community leaders, and more the opportunity to go global.
