Wayne McDevitt, one of Go Global NC’s valued board members, is a recipient of the National Association of State Boards of Education (NASBE) 2017 Distinguished Service Award. This national award honors current and former state board members who have made exceptional contributions to education. It is given to only three outstanding leaders each year and is the highest award that NASBE can bestow on a state board of education member.

“Wayne is a tireless advocate for excellence in the education of the children of North Carolina. As a member of our board, he not only brings the voice of education to Go Global NC but also carries the incredibly important global education perspective to the State Board of Education,” said Rick Van Sant, executive director of Go Global NC. “He is a dedicated advocate for North Carolina teachers and leaders to ensure they have the advantage of participating in Go Global NC educational programs, which allow them to directly experience other cultures to prepare themselves and their students for success in a global world and economy.”

Please join the entire Go Global NC staff in thanking Wayne for all he does for the North Carolina Board of Education and for Go Global NC. We’re fortunate to have his advocacy and experience on our team!
